CIBSE Ireland Annual Golf Outing
This year’s CIBSE Ireland annual golf outing will take place at Castlewarden Golf Club on Friday, 2 September 2016 with Mitsubishi Electric as the headline sponsor. Located at exit 6 off the N7, this is a new venue for the event and one that is readily accessible.
The shotgun start format introduced so successfully last year will be repeated so all participants will tee off together at 12noon on the day. They will then sit down to a meal and the presentation of prizes late afternoon with the proceedings concluding at approximately 5.30pm.
Today’s Castlewarden golf course bears little resemblance to the original design and now comprises a 6704 yards, par 72 golf course that is of Championship standard. The original course design in 1990 was the work of well-known professional and course designer Tommy Halpin with Bobby Browne and the late Tom Craddock responsible for various alterations and improvements over the years. In more recent years, the design services of Tommy Halpin were again enlisted for some improvement projects relating to modification of some greens, tee boxes and the re-alignment of fairways.
While Mitsubishi Electric is the headline sponsor, there are still other sponsorship opportunities such as Nearest the Pin and various hole sponsorships.
