The CIBSE touch rugby tournament, sponsored by Lindab, proved a huge success with a number of new teams participating in this year’s event. Held once again at Coolmine RFC, the occasion was quite competitive but played out in a friendly and fun-filled atmosphere. It was all the more enjoyable that the evening was warm and dry.
The participating teams were divided into two pools with the winner of each pool playing each other in the final. JV Tierney dominated the pool stage with their two teams topping both pool A and pool B and playing each other in a fiercely-contested final match.
Fortunately, Michael McCarthy of Lindab was on hand to officiate at the final and make sure order was maintained.
