Advanced Technical Products (ATP) celebrates 25 years in business

As Advanced Technical Products (ATP) marks its silver anniversary, the company’s co-founder DAVE DALY reflects on a quarter-century of transformation from a small family startup into a major force in the building services sector.

Founded in August 2001 by Dave Daly and Aislinn Dempsey, ATP has spent the last 25 years establishing a reputation for quality, technical expertise and reliable supply. For the building services engineering community, ATP has become synonymous with robust engineered solutions, partnering with consultants and contractors to deliver on many of Ireland’s landmark construction projects.

From humble beginnings to industry standard

The ATP story began with a leap of faith. In 2001, backed by Dave’s 20-year background in mechanical contracting and heating distribution and Aislinn’s expertise in finance, the duo launched the business with a modest product portfolio.

“When we decided to take the leap into self-employment, I assembled a small group of products, including calorifiers, trench heating and door curtains,” recalls Managing Director Dave Daly. “Like many small businesses starting out from scratch, we were lucky to get the support of the contacts I had made in my previous years in the business.

“I am incredibly grateful to those contractors and end-users who set us up as vendors. We are equally grateful to the many consulting engineers who put their faith in us and our products from the very start.”

The company’s rapid growth soon dictated its geography. Beginning in small offices on the Nangor Road, Clondalkin, and later moving to Finglas, ATP quickly outgrew its early footprints. 29 March 2004 marked a critical milestone for the business when it moved to its current headquarters in Ballycoolin—a modern, combined office and warehouse facility designed to accommodate a rapidly expanding inventory and team.

Operations Manager James Tattersall joined ATP in 2006, bringing vast experience in the industry. He is the first point of contact for technical sales enquiries.

Engineering Dublin’s modern skyline

As the team grew, so did ATP’s project portfolio. The company became a trusted supplier for large-scale, high-specification builds. Over the last two decades, ATP’s solutions have been integrated into an array of prestigious projects, including the Aviva Stadium, Mater Hospital, Dublin Airport Terminals 1 & 2, the Convention Centre Dublin and UCD Campus & Sports Centre, to name a few.

In addition to public infrastructure and landmark commercial spaces, ATP positioned itself as a key supplier for the high-tech sector, delivering bespoke plant and equipment to the FDI clients on campus developments of global digital and tech giants.

Today ATP specialises in two markets:

– New build development supply of plant and equipment

– Maintenance supply and spare parts.

Innovation, partnerships, and the future

An early champion of pressure-independent control valve (PICV) technology, ATP’s forward-thinking secured long-standing partnerships with industry-leading brands, including SPC, FlowCon, Giacomini, Ormandy Rycroft, Keraflo, Tranter, SWEP and Arboles.

Today, the company supports facilities managers and mechanical contractors across the entire building lifecycle.

Reflecting on the 25-year milestone, Dave Daly concludes by saying, “We look back with pride, but more importantly, we look forward. Our commitment remains unchanged: To use our knowledge and experience to devise customised solutions for the next 25 years and beyond.”
